El Niño will continue through the Northern Hemisphere Spring 2016,
followed by weakening and a transition to ENSO-neutral during the late spring
or early summer (Fig. 6). Forecaster consensus remains nearly unchanged, with
expectation that this El Niño could rank among the strongest episodes.
Seasonal outlooks indicate increased likelihood of above-median precipitation
across the southwestern tier of the United States. (and snow for Big Bear).
